« on: 25 Feb 2003, 00:00:38 »

Anyone have an idea about how to make the light in a C47 for getting ready to jump " RED " and jump " GREEN "  inside the cabin of the plane or if posible ( best sulution) place them in the hintbox  by activating a hint and a script ?

Is it posible  -  Help apriciated   ;o)

I'm not sure, as I've never made an addon before, but I think you can probably set that in the addon's config.cpp.  You could say, for instance, that when it's safe, the light is green and when it's aware it's red, or something of that nature (if you could go safe=off, aware=green, combat=red, that would be nice, in my opinion).  Failing that, I'm sure you could add it as an action (like the BAS units' goggles), then it could be controlled seperately from behavior.

Like I said though, I've never made any addons, but if these work, I think they would do well.

Yup - but this has to be done without going into cpp of the model -

I want it to be in the Hint box in the upper left cornor when you activate a hint - a simple red and green spot   -

The paras light where red for getting ready and green for jump  ;o)

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding.  One thing you could try is making a trigger that is activated by the C-47, and gives you the hint and activates an eject script (and you could use two, the first one for the red light and the second for the green light.  I can't think of any way to make the hint a color though.  What you could try, and I'm going over my head here, is to make a custom picture and have it displayed at that point.  I'm not really sure what the commands for that are, but I've seen it done in missions before... a picture is displayed and fades, like the text.

Don't know if it'd be possible, but scripting a drop effect might work, too.  But that's WAY beyond me.

I wait .....lol

 ;D

But you know what would be great...a addon that places you jump lights on any aircraft/helo for airborne operations.  I could be called by a trigger.....just thinking outloud.
