Wawpoint trouble
« on: 21 Feb 2003, 12:57:27 »
Okay. I have this mission where you shall destroy three scuds. You can be picked up by calling the radio 0-0-1. What i want is to deactivate the waypoint that is in the enemy base, and jump right to the get in waypoint.

How the hell do you do  ??? ??? ???

Create a trigger and synchro it with the waypoint in the base.

type:  switch
activation:    (not (alive scud1)) and (not (alive scud 2)) and (not (alive scud3))

I hope you are not committing the ultimate sin and using waypoints to make things happen.    Remember that lots of people will play the mission in Veteran mode and will never see the waypoints. ;)     Always use triggers.

Noo. That was not what i ment. Look. There is one waypoint in the base. When the waypoint in the base is activated, there is a new one at the beach. What i want is when you use the radio and call for backup, the waypoint in the base is deactivaded, so you can go to the pickup zone without activating the waypoint in the base. See. :P

OK, well in that case the activation of the switch trigger is Radio Bravo or whatever you use to call the chopper.

WAHHH!!!!!!!!!

THE WAYPOINT IN THE BASE MUST BE DEACTIVATED!!  >:(
YOU DONT NEED TO DESTROY THE SCUDS AFTER YOU HAVE CALLED FOR TRANSPORT. YOU SHALL USE THE PICKUP WHEN YOU DONT THINK YOU CAN BEAT THE MISSION. YOU JUST ESCAPES! THE GODDAMED SCUDS ARE ALIIIVE!!!  >:(

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!

Take it easy! Macuba always helps if he can and you shouldnÂ't yell at him! I think itÂ's you who misunderstood the thing. OFPEC is here to help but that doesnÂ't mean you just can walk in, yell out a Q and kill a man if he cant help you. You must respect everyone here, especially Maguba, because he have helped a lot of OFPECers.

And by the way. Read it again. Macguba is right. If you donÂ't understand. Instead of yelling at people you should try to read it again, several times. And then try to ask if you can get a better explanation.

Sorry, I'm being a bit thick here.     Why won't my suggestion achieve what you want?    What happened when you tried it?

In case I wasn't clear ....

I'm assuming that the group has a waypoint in the base and the next waypoint is at the pickup point.

Create a trigger:-

activation:   the same as you use to call the transport
type:  switch
Synchro the trigger with the waypoint in the base.

If the group is AI led it will now ignore the waypoint in the base and head straight for the exfil point.
