Icons on in game map display??? where have they gone?

Stupid question I know but....

When I create a mission using the editor and click preview to start the mission... I can't see any icons on the in game map, so I don't know where I am or where my men are...

Is this because the units are WW2 addon units. Do they need a special loadout to be able to show there position on the map?

You know the icons I mean... the little green and red circles that depict men on the map, with a line that shows the direction they are facing.

Units you dont know about never show up on the map.  If you want to see the units you do konw about, you need to put the editor in cadet mode by playing a single mission first before you start the editor.
