TexView will not save images as tga

I have tried to download TexView 1.1 from several sources but problem still remains the same.....any image can only be saved as paa/ pac not tga.I'm using Win XP Home.Is there any solution to that ?

next problem -after replacing textures of default soldier ,game crashes to the desktop with message : WARNING preNLOD format in object  sniper\sniper.p3d

G'day

This may sound stupid, but, you are selecting ALL FILES and then typing in your .tga extension yes?

As for your 2nd post, you're getting that error probably because you haven't either unpacked it (for texturing full game models) or xpacked it (for editing demo models)

thx ever so much ....I feel like a right prat now........yes ,of course TexView works perferct now...as for error message........for some reason I can only use xpack to unpack files.When using unpack-sqm ...I follow tutorial ...renamed file to mission.sqm and then....can't rename it but ...it just stays as tex file.Unless again I'm being a prat and not doing something right...............

Glad to help, For this prob, first off, I use Win 98 so I don't know what xp is like, but in Windows Explorer I select TOOLS then FOLDER OPTIONS then VIEW. Then select SHOW ALL FILES and UNcheck HIDE FILE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILE TYPES

Once again thx for your help.....yes, it did help, all  soldiers are now retextured...and can't stop feeling like a right  prat......lol
