Water explosions

Hi there,

is it possible to make a script which will make a bomb in the water explode like artillery firing on the people running out of a boat up the beach :D

hmm, probly pretty simple to do.  What you do in theory is choose the person/cannon that will fire rouynds into the water.  You give it an eventhandler to detect if it has fired.  This will supply you with the name of the shell that has been fired, and then you use the function "overwater
" to detect if the round is over water.  if it is over water, the script waits till the shell is at sea level, and drops a particle scene.

I didn't know this at all but yesterday when I made a short but fun d-day beach assault mission with hk pack stuff and when i fired with m16 on the water I saw small splashes like on the picture on the water surface. Really cool I didn't knew those kinds of effects where in the game. :D

yeah but too bad the effect is so small, its totally unnoticable at more than 15 meters, also theres no special sound effect.

what i am dying for is the ability to swim.  Think about it, you could swim under the water to the target.  Novalogic did it for Delta Force!!!  water is not difficult grpahics wise to implement into a game.  NOT AT ALL.  and it would give whole new meaning to the term night insertion.  Ah, I drem...  :'(

ya swimming would be nice...but since the game engine doesnt support it yet...no luck...i have SOO many ideas for it...but anyway...back to the topic

The explosion could be cool for boat missions where massive raids (normandy) are used...or for general beach invasions...i think its a go but im not into the particle and drop commands...havent learned many new things since resistance has come out.
