Script request if not already done

In my intro scene I have 4 guys standing around the flag pole saluting a custom flag made by me. My idea was to raise the flag to the top of the pole starting at the bottom of course.

Easy just use the setpos command to slowly raise the flag small incrememnts at a time I think toadlife did something like that with a human so just try that on the flag.

Ok that sounds cool, but,

1.) How do you even start a script.

2.) Would I put a loop in there to cease alot of typing.

3.) Will the flag be rigid on the way up?

4.) What is the command line? this SetPos[getpos this select 0,getpos this select 1,DesiredHeight]
