Wacky AC-130 idea

I'm probably smoking crack, but here goes:

The problem with making an AC-130 gunship is that an OFP plane's guns must point forward, and the AC-130s point to the side, right?

(I don't particularly care that I can't use all the guns at once. One heavy cannon will do fine)

What if ... and I'm no modeler ... what if you tricked the engine into the thinking the plane's side (with the guns) was its front, but used the new setvelocity command to propel the plane essentially sideways (i.e. in the direction its propellers are facing), creating the illusion that the plane is moving "forward."

Not sure if a pilot-AI could handle that, even if it did work in the first place. But just thought I'd throw it out there.

Cheers,
jl

if ya wanna get a little of erra you could make a B25 j i believe it was it had like 4 forward pointing 40mm cannons(i think) and was used for ground attack

they had to reinforce the siding around the pilots because it was threatening to blow holes in the fuselage
