How do you get an AI pilot to take off when he is already placed at the end of the runway?

Make sure he is at the far south end of the runway facing north, or on the taxiway nearest the runway facing south, and he will take off on his own.

yea, they need to take off facing north, in theory, you could edit the config.cpp file and make it so that they dont need to, but that would almost make a new map, at the mo planes are a bit hopless in ofp...

You can edit the config.cpp in PRACTICE and it works.
Look at the tutorial under WrpEditing tutorials, called "Defining Airstrips and Taxiways" if your interested ;D
