New Buildings
« on: 30 Dec 2002, 05:10:49 »
I have seen several messeges re: more varied buildings and have to agree. I've some good ideas and sketches of middle eastern buildings and airport control towers, concourses, barracks, etc. Unfortunately, I'm a complete novice at CAD/O2. The first building tutorial wasn't very helpful for me, the others by BRSSEB were more detailed, but not for buildings. I also couldn't get acomplete DL of the Building tutorial. Are there any others specifically for the creation of buildings?

The building tute by SFG is how I got my buildings into OFP and working the right way.... ;D

The thing is that most of the tutes you're going to find around here are going to tell you how to get your model into O2 and then how to go about making it work in-game and not really on how to model per se ....
That's more something that comes with trial and error IMO..

I don't do any modeling in O2 at all, but only use it to make my p3ds...  there are tons of programs out there that are alot easier to use for the modelling stages of your project....

You should get a modelling program.. and then search for a tute on how to use that program....
once you  have a simple model going....  work your way through SFG's tute with it ;)

Thanks for the advice. My area of training is medicine, so not knowing much about 3d modeling and not wanting to spend $$$$ I've purchased the Turbocad V8. Do you think this will be adequate for some buildings ?
