length of playmove/switchmove effects?

Hey I am so aggrevated right now! when i use a trigger to tell a unit to look through his binoculars or to sit down, they do it for like a second, then stand up again etc... How can I get it to last as long as I need it to, or to last until the end of a mission? Also, when I use    this switchMove "onChair"   , the guy won't be on the chair, he always slides off! It makes me so mad, and I even used   this domove getpos Chair1, and he still slides off and I can't get him to stay on the dang chair! Any ideas/help?

Hey!  I know how this is!  

My friend LCD helped me with a similar problem...  Only for me it was for a mission of mine called Covert Reprisal...  

I made some guys sit on toilets until you kill them and then they die.  This requires 2 switchmove effects and 3 triggers to loop them/detect when they should change.  

I have attached a small example mission.  Should help you I hope.  You just have to substitute the switchmove command for whatever suits your needs.   ;D
