Marking objectives as "Complete"
« on: 23 Dec 2002, 20:26:58 »
Hello
What do I have to do in order for an objective to be marked as "complete" in the mission notebook? I know I have to put something (script) in the trigger that detects when the objective is completed but I just canÂ't find it. I am just starting to create my own missions and I donÂ't know anything about scripting so any help would be much appreciated :-[ Thanks a lot!!

well, in that case you probably won't have to start worrying about objectives quite yet ;) but briefings are fun, even if the mission is just in the testing stage yet.

so, what you need to do is first find a short tutorial somewhere on briefings (not too hard, even without prior HTML knowledge), maybe find a template briefing, and then make sure you make the objectives all well like.

after that, you'll need this little command:

"#" objStatus "Stuff"

"#" is the "name" or number of the objective, if you use the standard briefing template it'll be from "1" to...well, whatever :) "Stuff" on the other hand can be..let's see, "Active", "Failed", "Done" and "Hidden". These are respectively: visible, but not complete, visible and with a red cross, visible with a green tick and invisible.

the hard part is getting the briefing done ;) (which you can learn to do with one of our tutorials, as found in the ed depot)

anyhow, g'luck!
