Lighting problems

 Well...  In the course of making our newest add-on  we (EC Mod) came across a little snag.   Asmodeus made a sweet P3D of a billboard.. the kind you see on the side of the road...

we've got everything about finished , but wanted to add a light to the sucker....  

so first off...   we tried to simulate a vehicle light, but as soon as the game started.. the light shut off with no way to get it back on .....  

so as a second method, we simulated a fire, which works fine, but you must type "this inflame true" to turn the light on...
but this leaves the player with the option of walking up to the billboard and being able to "put it out"  

so my q would be ... how do we either, config it like a streetlight , or leave it a "fire" and remove the "put it out" action from the object??

anyone???   ideas? guesses?  
what we're wanting to do is somehow code our addon like the default streetlamps...

anyone know where i can get a hold of the code used for that default streetlamp? Or where I might begin to look ??


any help at all would be greatly appreciated.... thanks again
