NVA flag carrier

Im building a mission where the NVA are assulting a firebase.  I would like to have one of the NVA solders to carry the NV flag during the assult.  I have tried a few things with no luck.  I dosn't matter if hes killed and the flag falls, I just would like to have the affect at the start of the mission, watching them come across the open ground with it.  Any ideas.  Thanks.

place a flag pole and a man - add a flag to the flagpole and name it, and then name the man, then use:

flagpolename setflagowner manname

the flag will take a few secs to attach to the man.
