Explosions - good ones
« on: 08 Dec 2002, 15:43:30 »
I'm thinking of making a set f scripts to simulate explosions, but with fire nd smoke flying away instead of orange things.
I've got a problem though. How (can you) do you move fire, smoke and sparks created with the command drop?

All I can think of is to name it like a camera and moving it like that, I'll try that later to see if it works. But I don't think it will. Any other ideas?

Ello there!
A guy called rubble maker (Rubble_Maker@gmx.net) made a *really* good explosion script which I have attached to this posting. It does exactally what you are trying to do (with drop particles), and so if you would like to create your own Id suggest taking a look at his script and I am sure you will learn something from it :)

Cheers

Thanks for the scripts Epicene, but I think it's done with ammo not fire - it does have drop but I think it's for after the explosion.

I did find something in the comref about attaching the fire to an object (the _object thing in firesource.sqs), maybe that'll work, every fire I've seen done by drop had """" as _object.
