hmm,,, strangelove.... Not "SIGNIFICANTLY" would it lag.  But if you go to some rural areas,,, you might experience one.  I'm making 3 resolution lods for each of my buildings (the 3rd resolution lod for all building only uses "6" faces......) but still you might need atleast a 1.2Ghz as I announced earlier (I think.)  I tried it out in my brothers Lap Top and it moved smoothly with 10 soldiers and 2 tanks (in the medium size village.)

Nogova is quite detailed and has high-res textures all over the island. You are making Afganistan island and as far as I know, there isn't so much foliage compared to Nogova. In Nogova only areas where I get some slowdowns are Lipany and those big pine tree forests in some places. The way I get it, only places where we can expect slowdowns in your island are large sized villages. Or is the detail level going to be high everywhere?

This is going to be the most anticipated addon since the Nam Pack 2 :).

Well, My first Afghan map (the lower part of the country) will include a lots of valleys and dense low grasses so Yes, you will need a high spec CPU (1.2Ghz or higher.)  There will not be an area with no objects since I wanted to make the map as real and flexible as possible.  So even in a wide spread valley, there will be a lots of low grasses so if you duck down, it will be hard for the enemy to locate you :-)  I really really want to release my mini demo of the island but my team is still only considering the release to the public (the minidemo is really a mini demo, it isn't really even a demo.  Only one Medisum size dense building village and few dense grass area and one high cliff rocky area... :-)  Darn, I hope I could get the go sign from my team  ;D  Well, so hold on till my "mini" demo is release  ;D

Actually, I think my team is just going over my mini demo island and give me some suggessions on what part of island to change and stuff.  One more thing, a campaign will come with the island so the release is delayed till mid April :'( :'( :'( Well I do understand it because we don't want any missions that will pull off the attention of our Mod ;)  So I hope you guyz'll understand it.  But the map "WILL" be finish by this month.

So will the Afghan map only be released at the time the  Mod campaign is ready and released in April? if it is will it be separate downloads or just one?

I don't think the mod campaign will be ready anytime before september...maybe. But the map will be seperate, it'd be cruel to deny you all it.

CS is doing a really good job of poly-cutting.

Minidemo >:( :-\ :'(
Release the full thing and if it does to be updated make the updates and than release the new one you said a few days ago end of march keep your promise please I was so happy I was already counting for the release date but this is bad news about the minidemo.
Why not release it end of march version 1.0 and when you changed the parts you want and when campaign is ready than release version 2.0 of the island but not minidemo :-\

I know,,, sorry for breaking the promise,,, but the map will be finish by march and I'm pretty sure that my team mates will work their "ASSES" out to finish the campaign as quick as possible with out lowering the quality (contradicting? LOL)  Oh well, I shouldn't have announced the possible release date be4 talking to my team mates... I learned another lesson.  Never to make a decision without talking to others :-(

My pictures are mostly concentrated on our team forum :-) there's couple of links to it but currently, we're solving some problems so in the future people won't have to wait so long to open our forums :-)  That's why right mike?

Also, some objects that you see in the pictures, will not be included in my Afghanistan since I constantly test and trash ideas :-)  The crop field was intended to be added in the map but I noticed that those crop fields were not concentrated in the lower area of Afghanistan so I trashed that one.

The objects are easy to use in the editors and also easy to use in the wrp editor.  Just like the plain official buildings, add the object to the list and then place it :-)  They will most likely appear in the map (except for some which I did perposely (like really small plants.))

I'll talk to my team a little more.  I hope this news will not draw away many people :-(  Then that will really suck.

if your going to place the buildings plants in the Editor can you place them under another custom section so it will be easier to find?

Excellent IDEA! I don't know how many creative addons have added to an already massive list - it's like installing everything into the root directory of your C:

What did you mean by that??  I'm making my map as user friendly as possible so I'm sure what you mean will be possible to :-)
