3rd party weapons
« on: 21 Sep 2002, 20:37:53 »
It's happened twice now.
I downloaded some royal marines (Bibmi and Mollusc's) and the SA80 on them permanently had the burst coming from it (the white thing at the end when you shoot it, dont know what its called), even when it was put on his back. The second was a Desert Seal pack (can't remember who by) and one of the new weapons (coltfield45 commando or something) had the same problem. This is annoying as both downloads are good apart from this.
Please help
thnx

Chris, this is what is known around the ofpec community as the muzzle flash bug.  It occurs whenever you download an unofficial addon that is not optimized for version 1.75 Resistance but was intended for use in version 1.46.  The only fix for this bug is to wait for the addon maker to come out with a Resistance version for the addon, which is slowly but steadily being done.  It is a shame that not all addons will be converted over to the newer better game however, as some of the addon makers have dropped out of the ofp community. ;)

You can add a few lines to the cpp to get the muzzle flash to work.  Heres a link to a topic on how to do it: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard301/ikonboard.cgi?s=3d967efd0783ffff;act=ST;f=4;t=16373

I did not keep the cpp files cause none of the readmes told me where to put them so I thought it meant you didn't need them. Where do you save them to?

You need to depbo the addon, and then write the lines into the config.cpp file that is uncompressed.

After that you have to makepbo the file and put it back in your addons folder
