True, but one of the great things about Russian weapons (both for soldiers and modelers!) is that there are so many common parts.

Look at the first 10 weapons on the list - I need:

1 receiver
4 buttstocks (solid, frame, wire, rpk)
4 mags (5.45x39 for 30/45rnd, 7.62x39 for 30/45rnd)
3 handguards (old, new, aksu)
1 front sight
3 rear sights (ak, aksu, rpk)
4 muzzles (ak, akm, ak74, aksu)
1 barrel/gas return (extended as needed)

And that just about does it.  I'm planning to make just one or two big texture spreads for all the AKs, 1024x1024 with textures for all the parts laid out.  It should make the AK series pretty quick to build.

The same will go for the SVD series, VSS/AS Val, 9A-91/VSK-94, and Grozas.

It won't be as much work as it seems  8)
