Maybe you would add some civilian vehicles ? And MP. And reporters. And please make forests look like real jungle (i think it is best shown on Ebud's Jungle Everon)

Apologies if this has been suggested/requested already: man-portable mortars. We at The Chain of Command http://www.main.thechainofcommand.net/ have some rifle company-level missions in the works (my mission uses your 'Nam pack) and a more portable mortar (bipod, base plate, tube) would be a very welcome addition.

Also, do you plan to add a "real" 90mm recoilless and associated vehicle(s)?

I think that would be a great idea, I have not a clue in the world how to implement that, but, hehe, it would be very interesting. Not sure if ST has the time, but possibly you guys could chip in and help in this area?

The 90mm will hopefully get finished over the break, along with versions for the VC and NVA as well as a shoulder fired 57mm.
If you're in a war, instead of throwing a hand grenade at the enemy, throw one of those small pumpkins. Maybe it'll make everyone think how stupid war is, and while they are thinking, you can throw a real grenade at them.

Ebud, your island look like really good!
I'm very excited to try it, I have few idea for it (I don't know if they are possible or not).

Could you change water texture ? I think green and muddy water texture would be more appropriate to inner rivers (even to surrounding sea)

About the rice paddies, I understand the tide abort yours plans. But could you use "fake" water? I mean make land texture look like water texture and attribuate it water environementale behaves (hear the "spalsh" footstep when walking on it)

If you have time I think it would be a nice eye candy effect to have height emerged rock somewhere, like in HaLong Bay

I really would like to help you but I can't understand wrp edit software, so...I wait and hope

Monkey Lib's sorta right. For a mortar that functions like the NP mortars, you can do it with scripts: namely an EH for the init, and an EH for fire (put).  The only problem is that you couldn't really start a mission with the mortar in "transport" mode.

You could also make it work like the MM-1, I suppose.

In the origional SEB Ia Trang map...there was a bug where you sank into the land.....could you use this bug to make the water thing? because you had that sinking thing above water level.....so it might be able to be used?!?!

Great idea about the portable mortar. If it was man portable, ie: in the LAW/RPG slot that would be awesome to be able to use. Like the 60mm which was commonly used by Recon teams, Viet and Marine units also... It was light, accurate and had a range of 800m.
Quote
When maneuvering on foot, and especially over difficult terrain where resupply may be only by airdrop, the rifle companies frequently have a requirement for a light organic mortar, capable of being man-carried. The 60mm mortar has proved very successful as a man-carried weapon, supplementing the M-79 - XM 148 40mm capability. The mortar, bipod, baseplate, and sight can be carried by a team of three men. Ammunition can be carried, one round per individual, by all personnel in a rifle platoon. This proved successful using captured 60mm mortars, with the task of carrying the ammunition being rotated through the rifle platoon. The ready availability of an organic mortar in the rifle company proved to be very desirable when the company was operating separated from other elements of the battalion by a considerable distance.

For all you Mission Makers that have been using the Nam Pack 2. If you wish to submit your Completed and Tested mission for inclusion in the NP2 Mission Pack, then email them to me at
w-chen@bigpond.net.au
Missions should be small in size (I'd say a max of 500k. ie no 10 meg movie sound track missions) and focus on realistic Nam Era objectives. It's preferable that only units from the Nam Pack 2 (+COC Mines) be used for obvious reasons.

How hard would it be for the briefings and overview to be in english also? I can always re-edit any of them with translated text, but what are thinking of sending Aeon?

This may sound biased, but english may be prefered. I'm assuming your thinking of French missions? It's been over 10 years since my last French class, but I still have my trusty dictionary :)

Hello!
I have been wondering for a while; why does the car-15 use 30 round clips?  It should have 20 rnd clips, should'nt it?
Also, to keep the question going, any info on release date of the Mission pack?  How many missions by the SEB team is going to be in it?
