Continue posting on the F-15 Eagle here.............any immature comments or flame war and i'm reporting straight to a MOD and getting this topic locked....

I'm more than fed up with flame wars clogging up a game forum.....and a very very good one at that

Vyper

P.S. That means ANY comments by ANYbody!

Thanks for getting the ball rolling again, Vyper...
I hope they release it soon. I beta tested for them, and the model I had was fantastic, even though it was still needing polishing.
Well, these guys are great moddellers, it shouldn't be long now.

Hey all, we were gonna make a new post lol...but it all works.

Well we are fixing it,  and should release it soon. except Us Marine is playing GTA3 vice city or whatever its called.

He'll be done soon then we can resume our work.

The program i used to make this model is Alias.. or Alias|WaveFront Studio Tools 9.7. Its used to auto design, thats my major.. but since i know this program real well and can do about any surface i can imagine, i model on it..then convert to 3ds and so on... Well i model in nurbs first..then i convert the model to poly...

I never seen anyone use this program for games or poly modeling. its strictly for designing cars and products for production. GM- Ford - Honda - Renault they all use it ..and more companies too..

cheers

forgot to say that..all we need now is to fix the cpp file...fix the armor..bomb power...sound volume..things like that..and i just need to texture some surfaces in the cockpit..

thats all.

I read over in the official forums that you had removed the sound of the engine from the interior view.  I may have misread what was up but I would prefer a little bit of engine noise from that view as it gives you a bit of feedback about your current throttle settings.

Either way, I can't wait. Thanks again for the many hours you've invested in this great looking addon.

I see.  Thanks for the reply DS.  I didn't realize it was an OFP thing.  A full throttle outside noise in the cockpit would mean my significant other would catch me playing until 4am and we can't have that.   ;D

Can you control where the sound comes from? Or does it just come from the centre of the model? Because engine sounds tend to get louder in the cockpit / cab ect. So if the sound source were moved to the back of the plane that might reduce the effect.

Not sure if this will help try:
 insideSoundCoef=0.050000;
play around with the value. it might work.

The F14 from a while Back, had a Loud Noise too, but it wasn't tooooo bad, just loud I normaly just Turned it down, try to ask the folks who made it, if you can use their sound, and modify it a little, or some thing, just a thought  ;)

these are just test ..to see how thery behave..and give us an idea of how we should model it and texture it. we realise its too spike and ugly..but were working on it.

We have a rpoblem though..we need the flames to show when RPM is above 90%...but we dont know how..or we tried but OFP wont allow it..if anyon knows..please tell us. other wsie..we wont include it. cause we dont want a flame when the plane is on idle power.

Well.. I know that there is the new setvelocity command...is there a counterpart to it like getvelocity or something?

if so you could make the flames appear when the velocity of the plane was high enough ?

its not about velocity..its about RPM..we want it depending on RPM. cause we want it to show on take off when u have engines on full power.

Would you be able to link the fire the way an active HUD is? So as the revs go up the fire gets bigger?

we already tried that. we thought that if we could make as a guage...to go up as the RPM gauge does..then it would work. But no success. OFP engine is weired. even though the engine CAN read your RPM to reflect it on the gauge..yet they didn;t make a command line for it so addon makers can use it.

Can you set it on a Timer so it stays on so long after Engine Start up? or Reverse with the Veloscity, so the Slower it goes the More Fire comes out? but the Problem there would be at all stop your Engine would be a fire ball :-\

Nice addon, the nuclear bomb wipes out the whole island... i think... sweet! ;D  But do you think you could add some background noise to the cockpit? Its only a little thing, and not worth releaseing a whole new version for but it doesn't seem right with out engine noise. Just a comment. But great work all the same.

Yea, I like the idea of a quiter c0ckpit sound but none at all seems a lil extreem!

The plane flies real nice, weapon load outs are good, very good!

2 small complaints though

1. I can't remember the name i'm afraid but the bombs that have the air brakes (scuse my niavity on this one! I'ma  chopper person!).....if you lock onto a target and fire at any distance....they always overshoot the target by 30 odd meters.....this makes them relitivly useless......I don't think its just you though because a lot of lock on bombs i have on addons do this.....is it an unreprable game engine fault or what?

2. The Nuke.....nice as i'm sure it is its pretty much useless......You can't be closer than 2000 meters by my testing which means you can't see whatever explosion there might be....It also means you have to really put your foot down and get out of there before you get anihalated! Can you make it just a really big bomb so we can actually see it!?!?!

Oh yea, there is infact 3!

3. With the sidewinders.....i love the sounds, but impact sounds always come about 5 - 10 seconds after they actually hit their target......so i'm flying on just forgetting my last kill when i hear it all over again!

These are all pretty small points...

I have found NOTHING wrong with the actualy plane...its almost perfect!

I have 1 suggestion, the speed brake on F-15's are retractable, and is centered just above the 2 engines. They are not placed on the WING! ;D Anyways, I don't know if this is an engine related thing, but i noticed on every plane the speedbrakes are on the wings. It might be a BIS thing. But the only airplanes with speedbrakes on wings ingame are the original OFP planes, the A10, and SU25, by the way have you considered making a decent F-16, or the F-15C model, the light gray Air Interseptor variation. But what I would like the most right now would be an A-6 Intruder.THX

Actualy, I that isn't a Problem, it's a good thing, because in reality, depending on where you are and how fast you are going, you'll see the Flash Several Seconds before you hear the Sound, I don't Know if you're in the US and know anything about Baseball but if you watch a game and you're in the way way  Back you'll hear the Crack of the Bat after you see the Batter hit the Ball but since you're only about 100 or so Meters from the Batter, it won't be that Dramatic a Difference. hope that helps  ;)

I have just one Problem with the F-15, the GBU-12s. I use the Laser Designatior to paint the target and tell the F-15 To attack the target but It comes back with a Negaitave Can not attack. Whats going on? It does that with all of the Modded aircraft, From Ashs A-10 to the Tornado. is there something that you can do about that?

This is an F-15E and is made to be able to attack targets by itself no laser designation needed unless chosen, the f 15e uses lantern pods as you will see on our f 15e which the gunner uses to obtain its target.

yes we know the speed brake is on top....i know planes real good, and yes its an OFP engine issue.. i even modelled the speedbrake on it...but then OFP engine wont let it work. so until BIS fix it, then the breake is ready to work.
