Fighting retreat

Is there any way of creating a fighting retreat script where you call it in the radio menu ( or the general menu ) and you r AI perform a fighting retreat.

What i mean is for the AI to cover you while you run back, and then you and other AI cover the other half of the team while they retreat?

Yes....keep in mind "Almost anything is possible with this game"
I thought there was one already or maybe someone was working on one.

Hello Gastovski

This is something that I've bee thinking about for a while, as I would like to have a fighting fall back as the second part of a mission I'm working on.

I have a few ideas in mind, but nothing written down yet.
One particular problem I forsee is that the player will be incharge of one of my groups, therefore I will be struggling to force him to cover the other groups while they retreat.

Hopefully I should have the basics sketched out sometime this week. I'm open to all suggestions of how this can best be accomplished.

Cheers

If you want any help mate im here, and willing to have a go. How about making it so that the AI check to see if there is any cover within 10m of them, and if so go to that, then turn around and cover the others. i don't know about the player. Maybe we would have to define a new formation class (If it can be done...).

Also another point that fighting retreats like the one I decribed above only work if you have more than 2 people in a patrol and less than 10... (Usually used by the SF's)

how would you make AI check for cover within 10m... as far as I know the NearestObject command is broken with 1.75

Using Stealth mode should cause units to use any cover in their immediate vicinity.

ps. I am still looking at this script, but things are going slowly due to other commitments.

Cheers
