Hi I have a question about the carrier:

Can we make the helicopter is bound for a carrier and leave it
there and then go

What carrier? The LST?

There is no carrier in Operation Flashpoint. Midway is an island in the Pacific, and all drivable models have collision troubles when brought together.

If this is an addon of some sort, you should specify. You should then read the readme that comes with that addon and see if it's possible.

Finally, I am not certain that AI will land on anything that is not actual terrain. You'll have to script it so that it comes close and perhaps even use cinema to cover up ugly spots.

Sorry pal, your nest question is unclear too.
Are you asking about an explosion script?

Perhaps a car bomb script?

Are you talking about a Drop script or Drop tutorial which covers the Drop command for Particle Effects?

Maybe you want to know more about the camcreate command which allows you to create munitions at a position?

That explosion was made with particle effects and sounds. I borrowed it from a fellow called vitja3000 and then tweaked the scripts . They've been in my script archives for years and so providing a link to them is out of question. But Everything you need can be found inside the mission folder of Kolgujev contract. I tried to comment all of my scripts so that folks would be able to see where and how I accomplished things. Open the mission up and check out the folder as well as the editor setup. If you have any further questions, be free to ask.

I'll handle this:

The Midway, I assume you're referring to, is the ship Addon for OFP which provides an aircraft carrier called the USS Midway.

First, I'd recommend you check any and all readme files that came with the mod, which to my recollection were extensive and detailed how to land helicopters and planes.

Secondly, just off the top of my head, try placing an H-Invisible on the deck and elevate it using setPos.

If that don't work, try setting a waypoint nearby and then guiding the helicopter in using Setvelocity followed by setpos to land it manually.

That WILL work, but requires effort.

Problem solved.

The same thought occured to me, but I couldn't get it to work not even with a visible H. Other objects would happily hover in position but not H's nor roads. I presume there is something in their config or model that means they stick to the ground.

The USS Midway brings no readme file. Empty heliports are not on the Uss, but find a way for you to download my helicopter.

Use a Blackhawk and I put in the init this flyinheight 25, then you add a waypont "Download transport" limited speed and put it on the Uss what the helicopter arrives at that point I landed and then leaves.
