Anybody found out what Info Age is for?
« on: 11 Nov 2002, 22:22:15 »
Hi there...

While I am waiting for NamPack 2.0 I was lokking through the editor, trying to work my skills as an editor. I thought I try out this Info Age under units etc. But as far as I can see it doesn't do anything...

Anybody care to share some information on this classified material from BIS?

Best regards

Well.. I'll throw out a couple of random ideas :P I've never used that function myself... but I'm guessing that it could be for one of two things..

A) You could use it to create a random starting point along a patrol route?   Like the AI was at their first waypoint five minutes ago? something ..

B)If you have extended map info.... I believe that you can see the vehicles and units on your map screen as you spot them.. and isn't there also a time next to the icon on the map? of how long ago it was at that spot ?

Just some speculation on my part, maybe someone knows for sure ;)

this is what it says in the guide you get with red hammer

Quote
This is where you determine wether the player is aware of an enemy unit or not (all units on the player's side are known). You choose how old the information is. In practical terms, that means that the player's command knows the position of this unit, but the older the information, the less accurate it is.
