Makes the AI Civilian keep standing?
« on: 13 Sep 2010, 17:17:49 »
I've posted this in the ArmAHolic forums too.

My problem is :

I can't find a way to keep the Civilians up from the ground when they en-counter gun-fire.

The properties of the civilian :

this setBehaviour "CARELESS";
this allowFleeing 0;
this setUnitPos "UP";
this disableAI "AUTOTARGET";

But even having all the above properties, when I fired a weapon in front of him,he gone prone, then stood up again.That's what is annoying me.

Thanks in advance,

Try disableAI "move" with setunitpos "up". Works in OFP.  :good:

Hey, if you are an unarmed civilian and someone start shooting around you, I bet you will prone! ;)

OK, let's serious...
Yesterday I set up an intro and I found your problem, but my civvis go prone when they are at peace (no shooting). They were standingfront of a wall and behind them the armed insurgency. And the civvis randomly go prone and stand up. They were:
* setbehaviour "careless"
* setunitpos "up"
* disableAI "move"

Finally, I noticed, they do it only in the begining of the mission. So I inserted a landscape scene before the execution, and when the camera go to the wall, they just stand as I want.
BUT! When the bad guys start shooting - of cource - they try to prone, but they are dead before they can.
In my case, it's more realistic.

Yes, but in the case of ZOMBIES, its a little bit annoying....

Because you can frighten them by firing your weapon.........

And if i use : disableAI "MOVE", my zombies will not be able to move.............

There must be a way to do this, I/we only need to figure it out.........

BIS always make things complex....huh!

Any help on this problem is HOTLY welcome......

Oh ZOMBIES! Why didn't you start with this?

In my opinion zombies are ENEMY, so you have to put them on EAST side and not civilian.
I never try it in ArmA2, but in ArmA1 it works: the civilian side react and behave like stupid. But if you use civilian characters on EAST side, they act much better!
