Ai needs to stay clear of minefields.

For arma 1, me and kungtotte had a cti in which you could order a helicopter to make a minefield, this ones were like 50x100 meters.

During the game, there could be plenty of minefields, but I need a way for the ai to use them against us but more importantly and what I really need help with, is how to make the ai not use the road once they put mines there.

Have to make a trigger that detect their forces and try to send them around with adding waypoints around it? Only solution i can think off.

get their direction and if they enter the trigger just setpos them across to the other side. if the player is nearby then you need to find a better way.
