SHADES, worn by default - wassup with dat?

    How the bell do ya add shades on a face  ???

 
-(modded. post - moved from the "General Ed." board)-

 8) Thing is, I have a few lads back home, and I wanna make them wear
sunglasses, but I must confess that I've never tried this before?!  :P ::)

In addition to this Q :

 Would it be poss. to let a guy (my addon guy) wear shades by default, where the
exact glasses-model ( = custom sunglasses, right! ) was in his PBO ?!

Guess my moving (clickable) sig line down below gives you a hint on
the issue and to why I'm so keen on getting this prob. solved quickly!!!  :P

All help will boost the release date for this addon  :o 8)

I think you'll have to make an identity in the description.ext. If you don't know how, search or ask.  :)

this is what is written in my player.cfg file

class Identity
{
   face="Face20";
   glasses="Sunglasses";
   speaker="Jonah";
   pitch=0.948080;
   squad="";
};

 is what Gameer_77 was speaking about , I would probably try adding the single line "glasses="Sunglasses";" to the mission.sqm file on the "player" ... give it a whirl.

 G'day

The texture name for glasses is  civilista_bryle.paa
and the texture name for sunglasses is  civilista_zrcadlovky.paa

The reason I say this is because some dudes have civilista_bryle as one of their normal textures so replacing this with the sunglasses will/should give shades by default

This option is built into the game. Click on your name at the startup screen for OFP and edit your face then save. You may choose sunglasses to be on your characters face by default. As for adding them to other players I wouldn't know.

thx heeps :D I feared it would be difficult to add custom shades to a unit
without touching the editor/descrip.ext at all  :-\

Still, I can't quite yet believe that it should really be impossible
 to add sunglasses to an addon guy from within his own config.cpp file...

I mean... you can add custom faces... then why not shades ?!

But how :hmm: that is the 120.000 $ motorcycle question of the night!

in lamen's terms:
the Identety is that the name of the Unit? or Item? like you have a soldier and call it (in the name field)  S_1a?
