Multiple groups with "GUARD" waypoint.

Does anyone know what happens if MULTIPLE groups on one side has an active "GUARD" WP and an enemy is detected?

Example:

- 3 OPFOR groups on activated "GUARD" WPs
- Absolutely NO Guarded Triggers what so ever, only the WPs
- BLUFOR detected by OPFOR somewhere on the map

If all 3 guard groups are of equal strength and equal distance from the detected BLUFOR, will they ALL move to engage the BLUFOR simultaneously OR will only ONE GROUP AT THE TIME engage? Kind of "waiting in line".
I know there is a priority list for guarding groups somehow, but the above aspect is not explained.

I haven't found any answers to this yet.

I actually have a script that creates guard waypoints for nearby groups.  In my observation, although I wasn't looking specifically at this, if there is one target group, they will all try to track to track it.

However, if there is more than one target group, they will prioritize so that each guard-group goes after the nearest.

That's just in my limited observation.

In you example: All three gorups would be advancing towards the enemy.

I tested this several times when I built the GRUNTS-mission. The only exeption would be if the detected enemy was an aircraft or a tank, and one of the guard groups lacked thproper weaponry to engage such a threat. Regular infantry wont engage tanks unless equipped with portable AT weapons.

hi laggy, what i found, If you use the GUARD waypoint with AI, be it enemy or not.
the ones with guard will leave the guard waypoint and come to the rescue of other nearby men or groups
but i have not tested at what distance AI decides not to advance........
this is without scripts and you dont need to use BLUFOR detected by OPFOR
