switchmove and playmove

I'm making a cutscene and I want two guys to put their hands on their heads, surrendering. Nevertheless, if I use switchmove, they put their hands automatically, without playing an anmiation. But if I use playmove (which is, as far as I know, to show an animation) they just don't do anything. Any idea? What can I do?

Edit:

Although yo ucan see I've used both commands, I only have done that to see which works in the cutscene.

Some codes are switch, some are play...  :-\ ( ::) ;D )

 - not really much to do 'bout that, m8  :-\ :)

All ya can do is try the most reasonable ones and see if some of 'em
will work as playmoves.... then switch to the FX_thingy.

hint - most "FX_something" spell are switchmoves while "Effect..." are plays.  :)

Hmmmm so there is nothing to do to make a good surrendering scene?

 :D OK - time's up, matey! Found a way, but I had'a tweak an old sample of mine
to get the job dunny-done! I'm afraid ya need the RES upgrade 1.75 to see this  :-\

Download, unzip to OFP/Users/YerName/Missions-folder.
Then load Desert Island - no addons  8) ;)


PS click on the WP's for the hostages to see the trick.
and note the exact delay (the 3 "timeout" fields in the wp's)
