Try this in the init line of a gamelogic
light = "#lightpoint" createVehicleLocal position this; light setLightBrightness 0.14; light setLightAmbient[0.0, 0.0, 0.0]; light setLightColor[1.0, 1.0, 1.0]; light lightAttachObject [this, [2,1,2]]
If I remember rightly that's pretty low level lighting.
Easy enough to edit to get the settings you want.
