Helo landing - where's the script?
« on: 14 Mar 2008, 13:56:04 »
I need a helicopter to land to pick up the players squad, but if any units gets under the chopper as it lands, it flys off and lands a mile away...

I noticed this on the comref for the "land" command.
Quote
Helos will land at the nearest "H" or "Invisible H", if there is one around.
But landing helos with this command is fairly unreliable.

Use this script here to get better results.

There's no link. Where can I download this script?

Possibly lost in byte heaven.   :(

However there are plenty of chopper landing and/or extraction scripts to be found in the Editors Depot, Scripts section.

I know a little about a lot, and a lot about a little.

The command is

Code: [Select]
helicoptername land "mode"
Mode is going to be either "LAND" , "GET IN", or "GET OUT" ; with the quotation marks

Put a heli unit in flying mode then put a 'LOAD' waypoint by the unit you want to mount the heli. Put a 'Get In' waypoint for the squad near the 'LOAD' waypoint and then synchronize the two waypoints..

In case you didn't know...  :)
Thanks to Mandoble for teaching me that :good:

hi UH60MG, check your choppers behavoir, might want it set to "careless". sometimes choppers get preoccupied. they like to wonder off. otherwise might be something youve over looked, check typos snycs ect. plus what IceCold2510 said too.
