Tonal Redux mod error?
« on: 25 Jan 2008, 19:35:51 »
Hi I'm new here so I apologize if this is the wrong section but I didn't know where to post, I just installed the Tonal Redux mod for Op. Flashpoint Resistance according to the instructions and when I load the game and try to play a tonal mod mission it comes up with an error. I will attach a screen shot of what it says, I installed it exactly as the read me said to so I am confused as to why it isn't working. This is what it says to install and like I said I did everything it said to:

"Mod folder installation
Place the @TonalRedux folder into your OFP directory.

Included in the addon folder

* BAS_I1.pbo 2.0
* BAS_I2.pbo 2.0
* BAS_O.pbo 2.0
* BAS_OPCPP.pbo 2.0
* BAS_OPFOR.pbo 2.0

* MAP_Heaps.pbo      By mapfact team
* JOF_Objects1.pbo      By mapfact team

The Island anim Folder must be placed in Res\Addons\ folder (not everyone has normal addons folder):
* BAS_Isle_Anim

Place the Insurgency_01.pbo into the Campaigns\ folder within the @TonalRedux mod folder. Placing it in your normal campaign folder may have strange results. Also I suggest removing any old Tonal saves from your user folder:
* Insurgency_01.pbo

Place the Tonalredux Folder in your Missions\ folder. More missions will come next week to fill this up.
* BAS_Isle_RebelRoad_v2.0,bas_i2.pbo

Place these mpmissions in your MPMissions folder
* co@ 5 scoutpatrol v1.2.bas_i1.pbo
* co@ 5 zinaba v1.2.bas_i1.pbo
* co@ 11 warpath v1.2.bas_i1.pbo
* co@ 14 closetohome v1.2.bas_i1.pbo
* co@ 16 militiadump v1.2.bas_i1.pbo
* co@ 17 holiday v1.2.bas_i2.pbo
* co@ 17 rebelroad v1.2.bas_i2.pbo
* co@ 20 internalconflict v1.2.bas_i1.pbo
* dm@ 10 elimination v1.1.bas_i1.pbo
* tdm@ 18 slumskirmish v1.1.bas_i1.pbo
* tdm@ 24 kimbeassault v1.1.bas_i1.pbo"

Welcome to OFPEC! :welcome:
I moved this here since this is addon/mod question rather than editing/scripting question :)

Anyways, are you sure you have everything in the correct places because this looks like the game can't find some addons the mission needs.. :(
It could probably help if you posted a screenshot of the addon folders etc. related :dunno:

Well here's a screenshot of the addons sub folder for the @tonalredux folder and i followed the instructions exactly and made sure everything was where it was supposed to be with nothing left over.

Ah, ok.
Have you added the -mod=@tonalredux into the OFP shortcut?

He mean put the '-mod=@tonalredux' in the Target field of the OFP game shortcuts properties, immediately after the path to the game exe.......as per attached picture.

So as not to edit your normal shortcut make another one and use it for this purpose.

The version of the windows doesn't matter, it goes in the target field and not anywhere else.

Check the properties dialog...General Tab and make sure it isn't set as 'Read Only'.

The complete target line in my properties dialog says:

C:\Games\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE

This is where I have the game installed and it points to the game .exe file.

Adding the modifier (for the game to run the mod) to this in the target field results in the target field now looking like this:

C:\Games\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE -mod=@tonalredux

NOTE: there is a space between .EXE and -

Presuming your mod folder is called @tonalredux this should be fine.

You should then be able to press 'Apply' to save the change.......if not there must be some obscure windows setting that disallows it, or, you need to be administrator.

The only reason your fields have quotes around them btw, is because they are needed if there are spaces in the path stated.

Hi there greenr18! Have you still got the same problem? Have you read through this tutorial about mod folders and the very good OFP Launcher? I understand that you have added the -mod commands outside the quotation marks ("") ?
