Need "AI Cover and Hold" script...
« on: 17 Oct 2007, 04:24:13 »
I have combed numerous forums for a script made by Zayfod entitled "AI Cover and Hold", and there's a forum posting here regarding it: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=32643;hl=cover+hold

The download link leads to a dead end, and this script sounds exactly like what I need for having AI behave smartly when located behind cover (crouch, engage enemies, flee area if being overran, etc., etc.).  I'm looking for great scripts that will enable AI to operate more soundly withing buildings.

If anyone could be so kind as to supply a working link to Zayfod's script, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Of course, I wouldn't mind any link to any other AI scripts that enabled them to operate with more intelligence from within buildings too.

Yours,

Kyle

try AI Simple Take Cover by General Barron http://www.ofpec.com/ed_depot/index.php?action=list&game=OFP&type=sc&cat=xyz
as far as making them operate with more intelligence from within buildings it depends on addons and islands. iv shot my own men for hanging out in building for to long. what i need is a "slap up side the head script"  >:(
hope that helps Kyle  :D

Gen Barron's script works, but the AI can never again stand up or move.  OFP does not have a way to overcome this problem.  Most of the units people put in buildings will have this disableAI "move" in their init fields.

KeyCat's GroupLink2 included a script to allow AI to patrol inside buildings, if the buildings had interior waypoints.

To find Zaphod's script, check the 1.085 release of ECP and see if it claims to have this functionality. If so, unpbo ECP and dig.
