Hi...! First of all I say "Thank you" for your answer then I have to say that I play with Evolution 1.6a on the Multiplayer section of the game (Internet) and I don't know if it is an add-on or a simple mission. I tried to load the .pbo file with the editor but nothing has happened. If you can help me it would be great!

Sorry for my bad English...I'm Italian and I speak your language so and so.

Paolo.

Yeah, Evolution is just a mission. There are a couple spinoffs... even a single player version.
Evolution is currently on v3.0... R(e)volution was on 1.5 last I knew, so that may be what you're talking about?

In any case, there should be plenty of choppers which you can parachute from already... just eject. :) But adding something should be as easy as this:

1) De-PBO the .PBO.... (get the tools from ofpec tools depot)
2) Put the folder into your "my documents" area, where all your other editor missions are.
3) Open it up in the editor and add a helo.

Note that if you want to make it work like all the rest of the stuff, that will be a serious undertaking. Things such as restricting its use to a certain rank/points level.... respawning it... etc. all of that stuff is scripted, and will only work as designed with what's already there in the mission. You'd need to edit some things quite heavily.

I've taken a look through all the scripts in evolution, and it's a little more than arcane if you're not really a good scripter or a programmer otherwise.

Thanks to all of you for aswering me! I played a lot with Evolution but I think that this mission has a very BIG problem...Distance! Have you ever played with Parajump 1.2? There is a chopper that gives you the chance to parachute you in every place you desire...that is the kind of chopper that I would like to add to Evolution!

With "my documents" you mean "documents" on the Desktop?

Hi! I've found a solution to all of my problem (Pbo tool - Decompress .pbo file - Open Evolution 1.6a with Editor)...! Now the only thing that is left to do is to add that damned chopper for Parachuting (like the one you can use in Parajump 1.2)...Is there anyone who would like to help me?

Please!!!

I'm sorry I can't give you the complete infos, but I'm able to give everyone else some much needed clues to help you:

What Salmaco wants, should be a locked chopper placed in the base of his mission, with an custom action menu entry like "Parajump". With this action the player can select his paradrop location with onmapsingleclick. Then a parachute is created at this location and the player moved into it.

You could try to depbo Parajump 1.2, too and to move the chopper and connected scripts into Evolution.

Don't give up!

When you're still unable to depbo it attach the mission as a zip file to your reply and I will try.

An error occurred when I tried to attach a file in this reply. But I have a free file hosting account so this is the link to the Parajump Archive. I hope it's correct! Thanks for your interest and help!

I had no problem to depbo the mission with Kegety's cpbo v2.03
IIRC it's the only working decoder for ArmA. http://www.kegetys.net/arma/

Looks like you're editing an already edited version of Evolution otherwise a simple copy protection should have stopped you while working with the decoded mission.
Please keep in mind to use your mission adaption only in private as author KillJoy wasn't amused to see custom versions going public. And you could always ask him in his topic on the BIS board to add your desired feature in his next official version. - I'm saying this from a mission makers point of view.

Anyway here's the ParaJump mission folder for you.

Mikeros Eliteness also depbos arma pbos, in addition to OFP, OFPRes and Elite pbos.

So Kegs tools are fortunately not the only tool that can open and repack arma pbos.

Eliteness is also available in the Editors Depot.
