Yeah I found that a couple days ago... It's a great quality addon. The model is fantastic, the textures are accurate, and it works well.
But, I was surprized to find out the author had made an East soldier for it. I suppose "East" and "West" is open for interpretation... But this is a weapon
that would typically be found in Western Forces, in my opinion.
I did modify it a bit... I made it a West weapon, increased the ROF slightly, increased the range and damage of indirect hits, ( Much more realistic now,
this is the most accurate way to model shotguns BTW ) and increased the magnification slightly.
This is a kickass weapon addon. So I'm happy!
And there is now someone interested in making an SR-47 as well. He is a moddler that has been doing a Russian SF weapons pack for Ghost Recon... He posted a
GR model of the SR-47 with an Aimpoint sight, and it looks fantastic! So I'm totally happy about that, as well.
So that leaves the HK CAWS...
Just some background on this monster... This was the absolute best choice for an automatic combat shotgun, that was ever produced. The US military actually
turned it down because it was considered to be "Too Lethal"! I guess they were looking for a NERF-Ball shotgun, or maybe a Super-Soaker watergun for it's
forces...
Anyway, this has been a favorite weapon of mine for more than ten years...
I tried to model one myself which should have been easy, because it looks so much like the the Lost Brothers HK G11, but couldn't get it to work due to
config problems I couldn't resolve.
Anyway, STGN, if you'd like to tackle this, ( Should be an easy job for you, because it has much simpler exterior and textures.
