Search Patterns For Helicopters...

Hi!

I'm making a mission, and right now it's on the larger side, units wise. It's a 6 man black ops mission, and so far I've been able to beat it by myself in 25 - 30 minutes.

Anyway, part of the mission requires you to clear out a town, and once you kill someone a trigger executes, and three helo's come flying into the town from a base on the other side of the island with their lights on (Thanx Sui!) However, when they get to the town, they run a criss cross path about twice, and then find a friendly unit (which was used for deployment of the troops) kill it, and then stop searching. I took an RPG launcher off a dead russian and shot down all three mi24's. It kinda sucked.

So, I've added more waypoints for them to follow instead of using search and destroy. Now, the thing is, their first waypoint is Get In, because the pilots start outside of the helos...which brings me to my question:

Is there anyway I can get the helo's to cycly starting from WP2? I mean, can I get them to ignore the first point and start looping from the second one?

Any ideas?

Hey Anton

To get a patrol like pattern going, I suggest a cycle waypoint.

First make a couple of move waypoints where you want the chopper patrolling (I suggest using a reasonably large radius, to give the patrol a more 'random' feel). Now make the next waypoint a "CYCLE" waypoint. What you want to do is position it near your second waypoint. This way your chopper will go through it's waypoints, then start back at WP2 again.

If you want to have another patrol after this patrol, use the trick with the sync'ed trigger again (simply sync it with your "CYCLE" waypoint).

Happy Editing ;)

and the guard waypoints is very good to - just increase the 'placement' radius so it covers your town.
