1st person view and zoom through binoculars
« on: 11 Aug 2006, 05:46:50 »
Hello I am quite new and I searched all that I could and found some pretty interesting stuff but I didn't find the answer that I'm looking for.  I want for the mission to start with a completly black screen and fade in, in about 3 seconds, to a 1st person view through binoculars looking at a truck up on a hill and maybe zoom towards it a little.  I have problem though, I don't know anything.  I do know a little, I can make camera move around and focus on different things.  But could someone help me please with the fading and binocs?

Welcome to the forum!

titlecut ["","BLACK IN",3]

should do the trick.    Put it in the camera script at the start.  Can't remember about the binocs, it might be titleRsc.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

have a look for the Cutrsc/Titlersc Tutorial by general barron in the editor's depot. i'm pretty certain that has the binocular stuff.

EDIT - okay, maybe not.

to activate binocs for a cutscene use

Code: [Select]
cutrsc ["binocular","PLAIN DOWN",0]
to get rid of them use

Code: [Select]
cutrsc ["default","PLAIN DOWN",0]

U forgot one thing. I recommend use this
Code: [Select]
ShowCinemaBorder false To disable black stripes. It looks much better  ;)
