Scripting Idea - MP AI Town Occupation

Hello chaps. I've been playing MFCTI recently and I've had a thought. "Wouldn't it be a lot better if towns held by a side had proper occupational forces rather than the entire game being a big CTF?" is what I thought.

Now, I know you have the AI squads, but these are more like bots in their behaviour than proper AI forces. What I'm thinking is this:

When a town is held by a side, AI occupational forces from that side spawn, take up preset positions and defend the town from any invasion. Upon dying, a unit would have a respawn timer of, say, ten minutes. Then when the town is taken by the other side, the respawn timer is stopped, the other side's units will spawn and their timers will be initiated (upon a given unit's death, of course).

This'd make invading enemy towns much more interesting, rather than just being a mad dash for the flag or a fight if there happens to be an enemy squad nearby.

Any ideas as to how this would be implemented? Or even if it has been?
