campaign type questions
« on: 20 Jul 2006, 13:02:48 »
ok, er i wasnt sure where to put this, so here it is.

Question 1...Are there any unoffical (or official) campaigns out there that DO NOT require Resistance? I'm probably the only one that doesnt have Resistance. So yeah. Oh and the reason is cos im kinda getting bored lol

Question 2...How do you make a campaign? Ive got a bunch of missions that make up a campaign, but so far they're just sitting around in the single missions area in a whole list. If there are any tutorials on the campaign description file for noobs, I would really appreciate it  :)

Thanks in advance.

You'll mostly need Resistance im afraid for campaigns, I dont know any that are just for 1.46. As for making a Campaign, there used to be a tool somewhere that would make it pretty easy.

Take a look here

On the last page is a campaign editor that should help you.  ;)

Failing that, get the de-pbo and pbo tools on the first page. Then de-pbo the original campaign, and see how it was put together. Put your own missions together like BIS did, and make them into a pbo using the pbo tool. That will have the same result, but will take a lot more time  ;)

I do believe that the excellent Retaliation campaign can be played without resistance. Do a google on it and you shall find it.

And also, that campaign making program didnt come with a readme or help or anything and i tried it out, but bugger all happened.

ARRRGH NO, don't go anywhere near that piece of crap. It will, kill your computer. It's deadly, and quite quite useless. Don't touch it, delete it.

The  Editing Depot will be open real soon now, a campaign maker that works, is currently under review by ofpec staff and will be released for your use in due course.

IT WILL!? Well, its ok now because i deleted it after finding it to be pretty bloody useless, like you said. But i did use it briefly  :o...whether or not it did anything, i'll never know. All i know is that the computer is still alive!

Cant wait for this campaign maker you speak of! :)
