I'm a new member!

Hello all,

I'm a long-time-reader-first-time-poster.

I have been glancing at this site for many years, and was delighted to find such a commmunity for editing a game.

I was saddened by the server crash, but am very happy the team is so dedicated, and that we have some functionality already returned.

Great work web-coders!

I don't have OFPR yet, still have OFPCWC, but I do have Gold upgrade. I think this is why I never got too serious about coding/editing.

I really need OFPR, but I have been unable to find a way to pay and download, and the closest store that carries it is 45 mins away, uhg.

I saw a water mod that not only created realistic downwash, but also awesome reflections, did that die with the crash?   :-\

Also, I remember reading that a gun-mounted light was impossible to do, is this true?

After I make the oddesy to get OFPR I will undoubtably be having more fun; I realize that it's the standard now, and that nobody works with the older versions.

Can't wait to get it!

Yay, so Hi all, and that is a really long post! ;D

HI, I think what you're looking for is dxdll - I think this might be the correct link:
http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=6811

As for OFP Resistance.
Check ebay for it and you will not only get it real cheap but you also get it send home ;)

Realistic (helicopter?) downwash and other great effects are part of the Enhanced Configuration Project (ECP). DO a forum search of ECP. I guess you mean "gun mounted lights" on vehicles?  Have not seen an addon yet that does this, maybe because such a light would make the gunner an easy target?

Hi Justin and welcome, as a poster!

Consider making your topic subjects something more related to the question you have ;)

DXDLL is an impressive hack but it can require alot from your computer if you want decent frame rates. Don't be surprised if your computer gets on its knees while using DXDLL with water reflection. For example on my too old 1.4 GHz Athlon and Geforce 6600 GT I can't keep water reflection on while playing, otherwise the frame rate drops too much.

Check out DXDLL author Kegetys' website for more stuff from him.

Err, no.   I meant a flashlight mounted on a personal weapon, such as an M16.

I'm not really interested in using such a edited device myself, because, as some have pointed out, this would make you one heck of a target, but from what I've read, I thought it would be possible. It is kinda silly for modern combat, but for older mods such as WWII, it would be cool to see a flashlight, esp. for stealth missions and whatnot, *Remembers The Great Escape*.

Thanks for the quick replies!

You mean the movie "The Great Escape"? I don't remember a gun mounted flashlight... I met the man (can't remember his name offhand) upon whom James Garner's character, "The Scrounger", was based. Malnutrition from being a POW had ruined his stomach lining, but he found drinking Dr.Pepper somehow eased the discomfort.
