Blagged meself a go on the Rapier simulator at Wad the other day. It's quality, we really should have a mod of the Rapier FSC in OFP.

Would you care to explain to the rest of the class what exactly a "Rapier FSC" is? I mean, I of course know what it is, but I'm worried that other people might not  :-\

PS: Pictures help too, if your trying to get something built.

it wont work properly, the missiles would not rotate, its an ofp engine limitation that missiles that detach cannot move...

heres a few links.. but if modelled at pre-1986 standards it should reflect its success rate demonstrated in the Falklands in 1982.. even though the RAF claimed at least 20 kills, these are disputed amongst the reports I've seen, especially by Sharkey Wards accounts in "Sea Harrier over the Falklands".

To translate;

I asked for and got to play with the Rapier air defence missile system simulator (controller and operator consoles linked to a mainframe providing any variation of aircraft and attack profile) owned by 26 sqn RAFReg at RAF Waddington. The Rapier Field Standard C (latest version) is amazing, it'll can hit almost anything, in Saudi and Kuwait the USAF uses the RAFReg to provide short range air defence to their air bases.
