Trouble with join waypoint

Hey,

I have a map which involves rescuing a comrade being transported to a prison facility in an enemy convoy. I had it set up so the comrade rides as a passenger in a car with an enemy soldier driving, and I made a trigger with condition of the m113 at the front of the convoy being dead. The trigger is synched with a join waypoint for the comrade. The join waypoint is on the player unit.

Anyways, the trouble is that while it seems to sometimes work, it usually doesn't. Is there any way to make the join waypoint work better, perhaps some command in the on activation field of the trigger that makes the comrade join the players group? (and get out of the car..)

You have to have a group name for your player unit.

Mygrp = Group This

Then in your trigger you put:

[Otherguy] Join MyGrp

which field do I put the group name under?

Is the trigger a switch trigger?

Also, I think the trigger needs to be synched to the waypoint before the join waypoint.

you could also give yourself the join and lead way point where you want the player to go( maybe on the prisoner) and sychronize it with their join waypoint. I've done something very similar to what your trying to do, and i cant remember it not working with the method above.

do this
put in the activtion of a trigger
[(prisoner name)] join player

(prisnor name) action ["eject",(car he is in)]

Delete all player waypoints.

Never, under any circumstances whatsoever, use player waypoints.   (If you want, when your mission is finished, you can put some in as guidance for players in Cadet mode.)    It leads to a whole world of trouble.   For a start, players in Veteran mode can't see them, so the mission will be non-functional.    Even in Cadet mode players can screw things up, and they may not want to do exactly what the waypoint says anyway.    

Oh, and you should be playing in Veteran mode anyway.   It's MUCH more fun than Cadet.   Nobody who switches to Vet ever switches back.    Do you like it when your parents tell you what to do?   Because that's all Cadet mode is.
