can anyone explain the addon type "groups"

have made a mission howevewr beta testers are getting error message  missing addon "groups" how come???

Not here (editing/scripting: general)
but there: addons: editing

But problem will be: what do you want explained?

Ask a mod (or wait just a little bit) to get this thread moved
over to the above suggested section of the forums and
give some more info about what you need to know or what
problems you got on that.

Quite.

We would need to know especially what AddOns you are using in the mission because that error is most likely caused by a wrongly 'coded' config..
Meaning there's class groups under the CfgPatches class (in addition to some other bad CfgPatches structure)...
(sometimes missing closing brackets }; may also cause a bit similar errors..)

The most recent one using this 1.30-1.46 era faulty config structure was some of the first versions of some Middle Eastern Rebels (or something like that) which used a very old config as a base for their own config (I believe it was a config from some very old UCE addon)..

Well, it's not an addon issue per se then

You should open up the mission.sqm in your mission's folder and check whether it has the groups listed in the beginning of the file in the Addons[] and/or AddOnsAuto[] list(s)...
If it is there just remove it and see what happens...

ok have deleted groups from addon list in mission sqm.. the missing addon error has cleared but now im told  no entry'config.bin/cfgvehicles.SoldierGMiner'

fixed  deleted addons from list  config prob was caused by  editor upgrade  thanx for youre help mate

You could always upgrade up from the old Gunslinger's EditorUpdate to for example General Barron's or Mikero's Editor Updates...

Both should work with missions created using the old and golden Gunslinger's one and should not produce any annoying errors
