DEM confusion
« on: 26 Jul 2005, 20:25:24 »
I'm trying to learn how to move DEM files into WRPEdit, so I'm using Planck's DEM-WRPEdit tutorial.  The only problem is, it says:
Quote
It is presumed that you have a DEM of the correct size and resampled at the required 50m resolution, probably done in Microdem.
and I don't know how to do that...

can anyone help me?  ???

Do you have a DEM of the area you wish to make into an island.

I'll try to help if possible.

I have a tutorial by Gren here that might help.

Give me your email and I'll zap it along to you.

cool, i got it; shouldn't ofpec be hosting this though?

also, idk if this is "normal" but a lot of the text on the .html page is black, which makes it impossible to read on the black background unless you select it; i don't know much about .html though, so idk how to change the background color...
edit: ah, i figured out how to change the colors (stupid me thought 0,0,0 was white when in fact it was black)

anyway, thanks for the tutorial!  it looks like this is exactly what i needed!

Sorry about that, but that is the way my system is set up......lime green text on a black background.

I find it easier to read that way.

Black on white is hard on the eyes.   ;D

i uploaded a "fixed" (black on white) version of the entire tutorial to my tripod site; if anyone needs it, they can find it at:

and thanks again for the tutorial planck!

You're welcome.

I would upload it to OFPEC, but I have been unable to contact Gren for permission.

I may just upload it anyway, or you can seeing how you have a 'fixed' version.
