Getting camera to follow plane
« on: 07 Jun 2005, 22:07:35 »
Hey guys,

Bit of a problem. I have a plane at the airport on Malden in my intro, and it's meant to take off and paradrop a blackop at a location. What i'm wondering is the following:

how do i get the camera to follow the plane on its "journey"?

I've been using camera.sqs for a few days now, and read something about using the spacebar to "target" the plane?

I'm trying to create some custom shots with the camera to keep the player emerged in the mission, and don't want to use the generic "around and zoom" as is with most flying scenes.

Thanks for the help :D i hope i've given enough info  :-\

Use blanco's logiccam2 in the ed depot. That can hold position following a vehicle or whatever the target is. I thought I heard of another way to do it, but I've forgotten.

Bah, its bedtime now, 12:30am....

you can do a loop wich is what i always do create the camera set it using relative camera commands to where you want the cam to be then use a 0.0 loop on that part of the camera but remember a condition so when thats active it goes to the rest of the script
hope that helps but to be truthull im far to tired and cant be bothered tommorow ill post the actual script up thats if this isnt solved until then

A good Tutorial for that Logicam would be handy. I don't know how to fit it into my own scenes.
