you should of checked in the editors depot first becuase there are tons of tutorials on how to get started
read snYpirs friendly introduction to script snippets
thats probaly the best wich is found in the editors depot and you cant really ask explain how to script because first of all you need to know what you want to do

EDIT - If you havent already download the official and unofficial command reference's in the editors depot they will help when you know what you want to do

456820 is quite right, that tute by snYpir is a good place to start.   You should also read Johan Gustafsson's Scripting Tutorial.     These and many others you can find in the Editors Depot - click the link at the top of this page.

Abuu's Basic Editing Tutorial is a good way of starting to script without even noticing.   The Tutorial Mission has working examples of very simple scripts.
