No Sound/Music On Custom Island
« on: 16 May 2005, 13:54:18 »
Hi all!

I'm making right now a campaign, on the island of Everon (I'm using some addons too, f.e: partisans, police forces... etc.), but the key points of my campaign are 2-3 flashback missions, which i'd like to make with the Seb_Ia_Drang island + some of the SEB addons (using NAM Pack v2).
My problem: I simply can't import music and sound to these Vietnam-style missions! I hadn't had any problems with the Everon missions - i stuffed a lot of sounds and music to them, and they worked...
I edit the Vietnam-missions the same way as the Everon-Missions (description.ext, triggers with playmusic "musicname") - but when I want to preview them, the program simply says, it couldn't find the music and sound files!
I'm using DBPoweramp to convert the files... Sound files converting options: 44100Hz, Mono, Constant Bitrate, 64kbps, Preserve ID Tags checked... (and the converted files worked until now). I thought, the OpFlash install is corrupted, but the program recognizes the SAME files if I change the island (I changed the directory extension to Eden, there were no problems if the mission was placed to Everon...)
My question:
Why could I make missions with sounds & music in Everon, and why not in SEB_Ia_drang?  ???
Please help me solve this problem!

(Oh, yes: sorry if someone have asked this kind of question before... I started this topic, because I simply didn't find the answer for my problem  :-\)

No, I don't think...

I re-installed OPF, but I had the same problem every time, when I previewed the Vietnam-Missions. The program simply said: "Sound/Music file not found". When I changed the extension of the mission-dir in my Users/JohnBart/Missions folder (from Emlekek.Seb_Iatrang to Emlekek.Eden) the mission worked properly (it played ALL the sounds and music)... but the island was changed to Everon of course...
So there are no syntax errors in the description.ext file, I think...

Maybe there's a problem with the SEB Addon Pack?  ???

Yes I think that may also be the problem because I have had exactly the same problems with Sebnam 2  :-\
I don't know a way of solving it either.

I think it was sebnam2 that trashed the sound on my computer so completely it took a windows reinstall to fix it.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

So, it's possible, that the problem is with the addon pack...

Then, I think, I'll make these missions with other addons, instead of SebNam2. I'll collect some Huey-choppers, American and Vietnamese soldiers, and I'll look for a Vietnam-Island. I'll make the mission on that island, and then I'll write if the mission works, or not.
