AI Not Avoiding Fences

Dear All,

I have since given up trying to sort this out for my nam mission but I am curious if it could ever be made to work. If you create a wire fence or any obstacle using either camcreate, createvehicle, or setpos then the AI simply walk straight through the fences as if they are not even there!! Is there any way to stop this? I saw that BIS managed it on one of the missions in the Red Hammer campaign.

I have heard that there is a tool which allows you to open BIS made single and campaign missions in the editor. Does anyone know where I could find this so I could open up that mission and se how they did it ???

yh there sure is its a pbo tool try this one i seriously recomend it
just type in the editors dpot ;win pbo'
its the second one from the bottom called 'win pbo'

Cheers mate. Is that a standard .pbo tool or does it allow you to open up BIS made missions in the editor?

Dunno.     Amalfi's pbo decryptor 1.5 is the "industry standard" unpbo utility and it does allow you to edit BIS missions and campaigns in the mission editor.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Quality!!! Now all I need  ;D is the tool which allows you to play any campaign mission you want *hint* *hint* ;D

IF I ever get this sorted out I will come back with the results, write a script and submit it ;)

just un pbo the mission the extract the folder into your user missions folder
for example
c:program files/codmasters/operation flashpoint/users/your user name/missions
then open the editor go to the correct island and load the mission and there you go

That's not the problem mate. I have forgotten which mission it is in the campaign ;D

ooohhhhh well then the only thing i can suggest is
a) play the campaighn until you find it
b) open evey mission

I don't think this is a scripting issue, I think this is an addon issue.  Are the fences you are placing default BIS fences?

Is this fence available in the mission editor without an editor addon?

Just to add that if you use setpos or camcreate to move machineguns (and perhaps other vehicles) the AI cannot mount them either ::) Hopefully the campaign decryptor will yield some results.

I guess it's one of things BIS forgot to include in the coding of the game :(

Having said that however they did it on that Red hammer mission so it must be possible!! :)
