Installing an Island.
« on: 07 Apr 2005, 22:00:45 »
Hi all.
Pretty new to OPF.
But have install the WGL addon, and very happy with it.
I have also downloaded the 'gaia' island.
But have not got a clue how to install it.

Could someone point me in the right direction.
Is there any other islands which I can use with WGL, and where can i get them, and how can i install them.

Many thanks in advance.

The readme you got with the island should have full details on how to install it.

put it in your:
C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Res\Addons folder or for the rare few who don't have resistance:
C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Addons

Ha!........I never put addons in Res\Addons, I always put them in the standard Addons folder.

I do the same as Planck, I put all my addons in either the addons folder or in a mod folder.

Actually, I use mod folders too, but I was too lazy to explain how to make one

MOD folders suck... I once had this one wich had only like 10 addonpbos and still it gave me the missingAddons: "something you already have and is not required to play this mission"

Only readme with the gaia.rar is

WG AddPak 2.00 Readme.txt

Which pretty much does what it says in the name, but says nothing about the island. Also it refers to WGL 2, and we're up to WGL 4.12.

Im wondering if ive got the latest island, and is it compatible....

Whichever version you have it will be in the form of a PBO, which you just pop into your Addons folder.

If there are island intro anims.....something like a folder called:

Gaia_anims

Then shove that in there too.

I've never had that O.pbo problem with 1.96... the addon problem just makes ofp skip the intro of a mission....

Thanks guys for the advice,
Just dropped it all into the the addins folder, and it worked fine.

Got a couple of missing objects messages, but that 's another story. Am able to make a custom mission, so all is well.

Now i've gotta go and see can i find any MP missions for this island.
