Change Sounds in existing Addons

Hi out there,

I need to change sounds of existing addons to fit my needs.
can anyone tell me who to do  this and what tools i need?  :-\
especialy the decryting of the p3d files? i think the sound files are hiding somwhere there ? right ?

The sounds used by the addon are either included in the addons pbo or are in a separate pbo.

To change the sounds the addon uses you will need to DePBO the addon pbo with a DePBO tool such as Amalfis Decrypter 1.5......available from the Editors Depot.

You will then need to find the config.cpp that will be in the resulting folder.

Pop it into Notepad and find the parts where the addon files are defined.
Just change the paths of the files to the paths to your new sound files, which should be placed in the same folder.

If you are clever about it you can even just rename your sound files to the same names that the addon already uses, in which case you won't need to edit the config.cpp, just change the sound files for your ones.

Once you have finished you will need to RePBO the files up again, just use StuffPBO....sorry I don't have a location for that one.....or MakePBO, which I think is in the Editors Depot as well.

but the next problem follows ahead... retexturing  

i have decryted the pbo and downloaded masses of tuturials on oxygen and stuff... all good work, but xpack doesn't seem to work propably converting the p3d files... are there other tools to do that ?!

It does have a few minor problems with the conversion.
It mucks up some of the selections and also named properties.
There was a later version that fixed that problem but I don't know where you might get it from.
