To many addons?
« on: 08 Apr 2005, 14:12:42 »
Hi,

first of all,  my english aint to good so please be indulgent. I'll do my best  ;D

I'm running Flashpoint 1.96 atm, no mods installed except quite a few addons in 'Addons' and 'AddOns' (the res-folder, u know.) Around 300-500 MB's I'll guess...

It worked fine until yesterday when I downloaded some new addons. The following error accured: "ATI Radeon 9200 *a lot of numbers yadayada* out of memory".

At first i thought that one of the new addons maybe coused the error, but it seems like the folders are too big or something like that; if I add one more addon right now the game will crash and show the same error message again, just like that.

Does anyone know what the problem is? (I have 1,5 pentium 4, 256 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 9200.)

Please help I'm getting desperate...

There is a limit to the number of addons you can put in the addons folder.  For this reason I like to use mod folders and run them with OFP Launcher by Kegetys:http://www.daddl.net/downloads/tools/launcher218.zip

Hi,

I not sure about this, but it sounds like you've overloaded your computer, when flashpoint loads it also loads all your addons so that could be it.

I think the best idea would be to break up your files. I had problems with flashpoint loading slowly, either delete any addons you don't use

OR

What I did, as long as you don't need all your addons at once download a flashpoint MOD Management program there is some at

http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?sekce=utilities&archiv=true&page=0

and pick one I use AJ's Flashpoint launcher it's the one that sits on your taskbar

and you can choose which you want to use

I just picked one but I looked and the DKM one seems good

Hope This Helps

Looks like other people have the same idea

You can never have too many good addons  ;)

Just do this:

Right click on you OFP shortcut, and click 'properties', and look for where it says this:

Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE"

Change that line to this:

Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nosplash -nomap
That should work

If you get different errors, like 'flashpoint has experianced an error and has to close' etc, take away either -nomap or -nosplash, and see if it works with just one of them
