Make trigger check for unit
« on: 03 Apr 2005, 22:26:01 »
Heya,

I would like to know how to create a trigger that checks for a unit being present. I can't group a trigger since the guy I need to check for changes groups during the mission and this seems to screw up the trigger.

Is there any command in for example the condition field I can use to check for a specific unit being present in the trigger's area?

Thanks in advance.

or in the cond

name of your guy present

I didn't do it for a while, but I think it works like this:

You can group the trigger to an individual soldier in the group (it doesn't have to be the group leader). Then chose 'vehicle' as activation in the drop down menu in the trigger. Only the unit that is linked to the trigger should now be able to activate it.

Thanks guys,

That vehicle thingie seems to work, but need to test it some more to be sure. Couldn't get the 'unitname in thislist' line to work though, not sure if I did it right. The unit the trigger needs to check for is called 'hostage'. In the condition field of the trigger I put: hostage in thislist, but it didn't seem to do anything. Am I doing something wrong?

I forgot to say that you must have Activation box set correctly.   If hostage is East, then the Activation box must be set to East something - it doesn't matter if its Present or Not present or what.

Check spelling is the same wherever name occurs.  I always copy and paste to prevent errors.
